It’s every Philly sports fans dream weekend - every team in season is home & it’s a jam pack weekend of games & celebration! Congratulations to Villanova Men’s Basketball for securing their 2nd National Championship in 3 years, the parade was held on Thursday and had a great crowd to celebrate our second champions this year (yes, we’re still on cloud 9 about the Eagles).
76ers vs. the Cavaliers: It’s been long awaited...the Cavaliers are back in Philadelphia to take on the 76ers tonight. If you’ve been to a Sixers game, you know you are able to get fairly reasonable tickets leading up to the game, or even day of...not the case tonight. Parking passes alone are running guests about $75 a car (typically $20) and then the game tickets, starting at $156 - UPPER LEVEL! That’s unheard of for any other game, but “the King” is in town and Philly fans want to see him in action, not to mention we would love to hand them an “L” in our town and clinch the 3rd place spot for playoffs.
Phillies vs. Marlins (Saturday & Sunday): After many meteorologists forecasted a rough Saturday, it’s shaping up to be a lot nicer than anticipated. Although not too much sunshine, at least we are avoiding the white stuff, come in...it is April! Dipping temps around the time of the first pitch isn’t too appealing however if you’re a Phillies fan, it’s a great weekend to catch the back to back games vs. the Marlins on Saturday night & Sunday afternoon.
Flyers vs Rangers: Pull the wood up, the Flyers are back in action at the Wells Fargo Center tomorrow afternoon. Another Philly team making it to the playoffs this year and we couldn’t be more excited! It’s been a few years since Philly sports have been on the up and up and while we don’t want to jinx it, we’re excited! A 3 pm puck drop is a perfect day - start with a little brunch before Ubering down to the arena, who knows, with a win your celebrations could go on after that!
Union vs. Earthquakes: Tomorrow’s weather doesn’t exactly scream “Let’s be Outside & enjoy the Weather!” however the Union are back in action at home vs. the San Jose Earthquakes, kicking off at 7 pm. For you Union fans, have you heard about the U-Ride? How difficult can it be getting to Chester for the games...not anymore! The Union has just unveiled the U-Ride program with 4 pick-up spots in center city which will transport fans to the home games 2-hours before kickoff leaving you time to tailgate (you can bring food & drink on the bus) & enjoy the events outside of Talan Stadium.
76ers vs. Mavericks: Wells Fargo staff are certainly kept busy around this time of year between concerts, Flyers games & Sixers games. Back on the court Sunday afternoon, the 72ers are taking on the Mavericks for a 1 pm tipoff. Although the Sixers have secured a playoff spot this year they’re in search of a higher ranking so wins now are important. Interested in attending? Tickets are still on available & much more reasonable than Friday night’s game!
Philadelphia Voices at the Kimmel Center: For the first time, Philadelphia Voices is coming to the Kimmel Center with shows tonight and tomorrow. What are “Philadelphia Voices” you ask? Think the noises you’d hear throughout center city, a night at Penn’s Landing in the warmer months & even our favorite...the sizzling of a cheesesteak being prepared. All have been transformed into a symphony by Tom Machover. Tickets are still on sale, check out times & prices here.
1st Friday at the Barnes: Arrive at the Barnes tonight & immediately you’re taken to the birthplace of jazz - New Orleans!
